Personal life
Who are you?
I'm Nate, and I'm exploring parts of the world with you, live on Twitch and in video on YouTube and all other main platforms.
Where are you from?
I come from a small town near Tours, and am therefore French. After moving around a lot between 2011 and 2018, I emigrated to Singapore and then Taiwan in 2022/3 for work.
How many languages do you speak?
I'm fluent in French and English - that said, I'll understand Spanish, Italian and some Portuguese. I also have a few notions of Cyrillic.
How tall are you?
I'm 185cm tall, so approximately one Gaspard_TV and a half.
Tea or coffee?
Coffee, without hesitation.
What are your political views?
I am apolitical and do not wish to share the reasons for this choice.
Do you feel lonely?
There's a difference between being alone and feeling lonely. I'm often alone, but rarely feel lonely, because I like my independence and need to be alone, as I'm not very socially gifted.
Do you smoke ?
Yes, I smoke cigarettes.
How do you feel about drugs?
Never touch 'em and never will, as I'm not intetested.
The beginnings
When did you start streaming?
I started streaming in July 2021, first on YouTube, then on Twitch at the end of the year. Everything was in English until Gaspard_TV convinced me to switch to French.
What did you do before?
Before becoming a full-time content creator, I managed digital projects for an international company, helping other companies with tax, accounting, legal and other issuess - I was in-house, covering the whole Asia-Pacific region.
Why Asia?
I've been living here for several years now, and the reason I stay is simple: I feel good here. Over the years, it's become a bit like my new home.
Why should we watch you, and not another creator?
It's a complex question to which there's no answer. Each viewer will have their own preferences in terms of content, but also in terms of personality they wish to watch. Rest assured, however, that I always try to offer quality content that will appeal to as many people as possible, and my aim remains to help as many people as possible discover the beauty of the areas I cycle through.
The stream
Qhat's your bike?
I ride a gravel bike with a steel frame, made by VELOCI. 90% of the accessories on the bike come from Décathlon, and everything is made in Taiwan, except for the stand, which is an imported German brand.
Is your bike electric?
No, it's organic, like me. Jokes aside, I'm often asked this question, as it would be more practical. That said, it would add weight to the bike, which is already heavy, and limit potential air travel.
Where do you sleep?
I generally sleep in hotels or guesthouses. In fact, this accounts for over 30% of our monthly budget. We also sometimes go camping, but that's rare.
What's your setup?
Bike setup: Jetson Nano graphics card (rendered unusable by time and heat) replaced by an Orange Pi 5 Plus, on which Belabox software lets me stream. The video stream is sent to an IRLToolkit server, which then uploads it to Twitch. With that, let's add a GoPro Hero 8, with a MediaMod for HDMI video capture. A flurry of cables later, we add Rode Wireless GO II microphones, and an old Samsung A13 to read the chat. As for connections, I use a HUAWEI 4G dongle and a NETGEAR NIGHTHAWK M5.
Normal setup: iPhone 14 Pro, small tripod available in any store, plus the microphones and connections listed above.
Why don't you camp more?
Camping is great, but sometimes it can feel very lonely. When a stream ends, and I'm camping, there's not much for me to do, and I can feel vulnerable. It's also worth noting that wild camping can be dangerous in some parts of the world, and sometimes even illegal.

What are your revenue streams?
Today, I earn a living thanks to you, on Twitch with subs or donations with PayPal or Tipeee. I've also recently started using affiliate links, which I hope will bring me a little extra income.
I can't or don't want to financially support - any alternatives?
A lot of affiliate links are available on my site in the Deals section. These links earn me a small commission, which doesn't cost you anything extra. However, if you don't need anything, then watching the streams/videos and sharing them with others will be a great help!
Why do you take breaks?
I travel alone, and everything I do, I do it alone... which means my time is limited. As a result, I'm forced to take breaks to work, rest and recharge.
What's after Asia by Bicycle?
It's a big question, and I don't have the answer yet... it all depends on my desires, the expectations of the community and the evolution of the platforms.
What are your dream travel destinations?
There are many... but the main ones are Bhutan, Iceland, New Zealand and Vanuatu. But let's face it, the whole world interests me and deserves to be seen (except for one country, but I won't say which one).
